Fire Assessment for DFA127 and RC Swing Safety Sensor

With the industry's increasing focus on Passive Fire Protection, particularly in light of recent events, Record UK is delighted to announce that our market-leading products, the DFA 127 Swing Door Operator and RC Swing Sensor now comply with the latest fire test standards as specified in Approved Document B – Fire Volumes 1 and 2.
In particular, Appendix C: which states that the requirement for Fire Doorsets is to test exposure from each side of the doorset separately.
In collaboration with Wood International Agency (WIA), our DFA 127 and RC Swing underwent the following fire test on 13th August 2024:

The fire test which consisted of Sample Tested Products attained the following Scope of Approval:
DFA127 Swing Door Operator
Latched or Unlatched, Single or Double Doors, intumescent sealed cellulosic or mineral core door assemblies having a fire resistance from 30 to 120 minutes (E30 EI30 to E120 EI120) with uninsulated glazing up to 20% of the total door area. Tested in dual orientation, fire side and non-fire side as per the guidance in Approved Document B Volume 1 and Volume 2 2019 edition, Appendix C: Fire Doorsets, for retaining door hardware.
RC Swing Safety Sensors
Latched or Unlatched, Single or Double Doors, intumescent sealed cellulosic or mineral core door assemblies having a fire resistance from 30 to 60 minutes (E30 EI30 to E60 EI60) with uninsulated glazing up to 20% of the total door area. Installation must include graphite protection for the maximum Ø10mm drill hole between the door facings, for the full thickness of the door. Tested in dual orientation, fire side and non-fire side as per the guidance in Approved Document B Volume 1 and Volume 2 2019 edition, Appendix C: Fire Doorsets, for retaining door harware.

To ensure all our products comply with the above, Record UK will supply an Intumescent Graphite Fire Pack with all our fire-rated DFA operators, to protect the communication cable between the two RC Swing safety sensors.
